Taraf aur tabsara: Ye 2 ashaar farsi kalaam "payam-e-mashriq ke dusre hisay "Afkar" mein shamil hain. Jese ke anwaan se zahir hai ye mukhtasir nazam Germany ke mashoor shayar ki nazam "sawalat" ke jawab mein likhi hai. Germany ka ye maya naaz shayar 1797 mein paida howa. Ibtidai taleem apne watan mein hasil karne ke baad apne chaha ke paas pohancha. Haina ki shayari par Europe ke beshumar naqadon ne tabsara kiya hai. Natshah ka kehna hai ke Germany ne Haina se bara shayar aur mujhse bara artisht paida nahin kiya. Iqbal ne Haina ki poem "questions" ka khuch youn jawab diya hai:
Tarjuma: (Samandar ke) gire paray sahil ne kaha keh agarcheh main bari zindagi guzar chuka hon magar afsoos mujhe khuch maloom nahin ho saka keh main kya hon. Aik mast lehar teezi se uthi aur kehne lagi ke agar main chalti rahon tou zinda hon aur agar na chalon tou main (zinda) nahin hon.

Tashreh: Allama Iqbal ki ye mukhtasir nazam "Zindagi-o-Amal" Germany ke mashoor-o-maroof Israeli shayar Haina ki nazam "sawalat" ke jawab mein likhi gayi hai aur is nazam mein Allama Iqbal ne apne falsafa, hakat-o-amal ko sahil aur mooj ke darmiyan mukalmay se zahiha kiya hai. Sahil chunkeh shuru hi se aik jagah par sakan-o-sakat para hota hai is liye woh jamood ayr beharkati ki elamat hai. Iqbal kehte hain ke aik din sahil ne kaha ke agar cheh mein aik taweel zindagi guzar chuka hon aur jub se wajood mein aaya hon yahan pare pare mujhe aik arsa guzar chuka hai magar afsoos hai ke main is nukte se agah nahin ho saka keh main kya hon? meri haqeeqat kya hai? meri zindagi ki no'eeyat kya hai aur meri zindagi ka maqsad kya hai? itna arsa zindagi basar kar lene ka bawajod main apne aap ko nahin pehchan saka aur aaj bhi roz-e-awwal ki tarah apne aap se na aashna, na waqif aur bekhabar hon. Sahil ki is baat ko samandar ki aik bechain aur beqarar lehar ne suna. Woh harkat yani amal ke jazbe se sarshar thi. Isi sarshari aur madhoshi ki kefiyat mein woh teezi ke sath pani se ubhri aur kehne lagi ke meri zindagi tou amal ka naam hai aur mera wajood harkat se ebarat hai. Agar mein chalti rahon aur apne aap ko harkat aur amal ki halat mein rakhon tou main zinda hon lekin agar main na chalon, thehr jaon, ruk jaon aur harkat-o-amal ki halat mein na rahon tou amin zinda nahin rehti. Meri zindagi harkat aur amal hi ke dam se hai. Main agar harkat aur amal se mehroom ho jaon tou is ke sath hi zindagi se mehroom ho jati hon. Theharte aur sakan hote hi mera wajood bhi khatam ho jata hai kyoun keh mooj tou usi waqt tak mooj kehlati hai jub tak woh harkat aur amal ki halat aur kefiyat mein rehti hai. Harkat aur amal khatam hote hi us ki zindagi moot mein aur hasti neesti mein badal jati hai.
